It is available as a delayed-release (long-acting) tablet taken orally. It is usually taken once a day for 4 to 8 weeks, but it is sometimes taken for a longer time, with or without food.
Oral: Store at 15-30°C. Store it in an airtight container.

The priority in acute diarrhoea, is the prevention or reversal of fluid and electrolyte depletion.This is particularly important in infants and in frail and elderly patients. May reduce absorption of ketoconazole and itraconazole. May prolong the elimination of diazepam, phenytoin and warfarin. May inhibit the cyclosporin metabolism.
